Our brand is rooted in empathy and purpose. Through DK Movement Cares, we extend that belief into our communities, empowering youth, families, and organizations to grow together through access, opportunity, and support.

Founded in 2023, DK Movement Cares was created from a shared belief that everyone deserves hope, dignity, and the tools to thrive. What began as a grassroots mission to be the change we wish to see has grown into a community movement touching hundreds of lives across Connecticut and beyond.

DK Movement Cares is closely connected with DK Brand Collective, a Connecticut-based leadership training, consulting, and event strategy firm founded by Kelly Houston. A portion of proceeds from DK Brand Collective’s professional services directly supports DK Movement Cares and its programs, allowing our nonprofit initiatives to remain sustainable, community-driven, and impact-focused.

Our Impact in the Community

Together, through DK Movement Cares, we have:

  • Launched our Annual 5K Run/Walk, raising funds to support individuals experiencing homelessness, individuals with special needs, and youth development initiatives across Connecticut.

  • Developed the Mind & Motion Plus Youth Program in collaboration with the Meriden, New Britain, and Berlin YMCA. This 10-week program supports teens ages 13–18 in building confidence, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and resilience through guided learning and physical activity.

  • Provided direct support to local shelters and outreach organizations, including St. Vincent de Paul Shelter and Agape Homeless Outreach, helping families in need receive essential resources with care and dignity.

  • Organized holiday food drives and community fundraisers, supporting local food pantries such as Hillside Community Church and helping ensure families have access to nourishment and support during the holiday season.

  • Delivered mentorship and empowerment talks at group homes and youth centers, including the Bristol Boys & Girls Club, offering guidance, encouragement, and personal growth tools to young people.

  • Earned media recognition for community leadership and innovative youth programming.

Every milestone reflects what is possible when businesses, nonprofits, and communities work together with intention, compassion, and shared responsibility.

How DK Brand Collective Supports DK Movement Cares

DK Movement Cares is sustained through a combination of community donations, fundraising initiatives, and a portion of proceeds from DK Brand Collective, a Connecticut-based leadership training, consulting, branding, and event strategy firm founded by Kelly Houston.

This intentional connection allows professional work completed through DK Brand Collective to help fund community programming, youth development initiatives, and charitable outreach through DK Movement Cares, including the Mind & Motion Plus Youth Program. By reinvesting a portion of business proceeds into nonprofit impact, we are able to create a sustainable model that supports long-term community growth, mentorship, and access to opportunity while maintaining the integrity and mission of our nonprofit work.
